National Emergency Room (ER) Statistics:
- One in four families will visit an ER this year.
- According to a 2004 Centers for Disease Control report, 88 percent of those who visit an ER (almost 97 million people annually) do not need to be admitted to the hospital; therefore, it is not necessary to go to the hospital to receive emergency care.
Legacy ER's Care and Equipment:
- Freestanding location will serve young families and busy professionals who value time and customer service.
- Will provide cost savings over hospital based ERs, due to streamlined services and equipment. Physician owned and operated and all patients will be treated by residency trained and board certified emergency physicians.
- Patient care line dedicated to patient questions and medical advice and provides telephone access to a board certified doctor or ER nurse.
- Waiting area will be a relaxing atmosphere for the patient, complete with coffee and juice bar, flat screen TVs, sound proofed rooms and a dedicated waiting area for children.
- Rooms equipped with TV and/or music to enhance patient privacy and comfort.
- On-site laboratory provides access to state-of-the-art, NASA developed and tested equipment with decreased waiting time for results.
- On-site radiology suite with real-time readings by a board certified radiologist. All-digital suite provides access to both X-ray equipment and a multislice CAT scan.
- On-sight anesthesia for many adult and pediatric procedures.
- On-site cardiac care, including defibrillators, cardiac pacing and monitoring equipment, laboratory work and EKG.
- On-site, advanced airway management equipment.
- Back up generator assures service is always available, even when the power goes out.
- Direct communication with local physicians and pharmacies and the ability to electronically transfer medical records, discharge instructions and prescriptions allow for better continuity in patient care.
- Ambulance bay allows for separate entrance and exit for those patients requiring transportation.
